South Coast Bikes is Brighton and Hove's premier bicycle servicing workshop. Founded in a garden shed in 2003 we've grown to become the successful business we are today, servicing over 2000 bikes a year, as well as being the operations partner for the Brighton Bike Share scheme. We've stayed true to our founding principles, and offer outstanding customer service, pride in a job well done, and a supportive, collaborative, and enjoyable work environment.
This is a great opportunity to join a successful business in a growing industry. As part of your training you'll work in every area of the company acquiring new skills and knowledge along the way. You'll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of bikes and technologies both new and old.
Initially the role is 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday but across the company we work a variety of shifts from 6am to 9pm, 7 days a week. All roles start with 28 days holiday and, you’ll be pleased to know, we are a Brighton living wage employer. Full training will be provided and other perks include parts at cost price + vat and regular staff social events!
Age, experience and/or qualifications are no barrier to applying for this position. What we're more interested in are switched on, motivated individuals who can absorb information and use logic in a wide range of situations. Professional communication with our customers is paramount, so people skills along with strong spoken and written English is essential.

Jobs: Senior Mechanic - March 2021
Do you love fixing bikes? Would you like to work here?
We love fixing bikes and we're looking for someone new to come and join our friendly, hard working team.
You'll need experience (details below) but even more you need to be the right person. Passionate, fun, friendly, dedicated - an all round good guy (or girl).
Let's face it you didn't get into this industry to get rich! (though we can offer you a very competitive package) you did it because there a few things more satisfying than taking a neglected steed and transforming it, making it gleam and purr - that great feeling from a job well done and a happy customer coming back just to thank you.
South Coast Bikes is a unique business. We are a bicycle servicing workshop. That's right - not a shop, so you can just get on with the job in hand. We also only do full services so you don't have to worry about the 'just fix the ...' when you know there's more that needs doing.
Our USP is our 7 day a week collection and delivery service. This and our passion for the quality of our work puts us head and shoulders above the competition.
You'll need previous experience on the spanners in a busy shop or workshop, a can-do attitude and the ability to learn fast. With us it's not just about fixing bikes, the business model we operate requires a fully focused and switched on team to keep the workshop running smoothly and our customers happy.
We've been operating since 2003 and we've come a long way in that time but we're always looking to further improve and are open to new ideas.
At the moment we need someone who can hit the ground running so please only apply if you've relevant previous experience. In return we can offer you the opportunity to work in an enjoyable supportive environment with a great bunch of guys. We love a bit of banter, a good album/6music, a few beers on a friday and..
For more details about what we do please have a good look around the website and if you think this may be the job for you then send an email to jobs@southcoastbikes.co.uk telling us about yourself.
