Haha - just rode my beloved and much used Whyte for the first time since getting it back from SCBikes where it's had a thorough servicing and it's brilliant. Felt like I had an extra couple of gears and couldn't help grinning during an off road descent cos everything felt so tight and secure(headset, suspension, brakes). The guys did a complete overhaul of my 9 year old GT iDrive 2.0 MTB and prepared it for use on road ready for London to Brighton. Feels better than new and really looking forward to the 50 mile road ride and then for afterwards swapping the tyres to get back on the trails. Major Service and a few parts came to Â£70 which I thought was allot. However... the bike feels like new and I canâ€™t believe the difference. It has to be one of the best Â£70 Iâ€™ve ever spent. I would highly recommend these guys. Fantastic service all round. Picked up the bike and gave me a rough estimate then called to let me know the exact cost before completing the work. Delivered the bike with a thorough handover as to the work carried out and what I should do to maintain the work. I think Dan carried out the work and as stated earlier the bike is as good a new (in fact now feels better). London to Brighton this Sunday and now with the work carried out I might have a fighting chance of finishing in one piece. Highly recommended.

After my slightly ham-fisted attempts to fix my wife's Trek Halfords wanted £150 to fix it and suggested I buy one of their BSOs (read the article on the scb website). scb charged us less than half the Halfords quote, picked the bike up on Saturday morning and we had it back on Monday afternoon working like new and totally transformed. Great service. Took my almost new Trek 7.6 FX in to South Coast Bikes after a minor accident and a problem with the gears autoshifting. Evans (who I bought it from) had looked at it, said it was ok but could not diagnose the problem. South Coast spotted the issue instantly (bent rear derailler mounting bracket) and fixed it in 20 minutes. Impressed !

The collected when they said they would(Sat am) and the bike was ready 24 hours later, and I was able to collect on the Sunday. I have had my bike for about 3 years. During this time I have had a few services at other bike shops which have been ok and kept it running. 3 months ago the gear system went and I stopped riding it. Since then it has been left outside. To be honest I thought it had seen the end of its days. However I decided to call up Southcoast bikes to see if they could get it back on the road. I found the service to be second to none they were very friendly and helpful. When they came to give me a quote they gave me all the options. It was a little more expensive than I expected because the bike needed a complete overhaul. They returned it to me two days later and I was, and am, truly amazed. My bike looks like new. It runs better than it has ever done even when I brought it new. Thank you so much to the team. I’m looking forward to moving to London and spending many happy hours on my new bike!

I was so pleased to receive my bike back following Monday after pick up previous saturday. It had had great service in which Matt apparently came in to do especially on his day off! It had already gone in for a previous service with Evans, cost: £125 with a £10 discount voucher.. They did admittedly give me new chain. But when I cycled Monday it felt different, the brakes worked fine and you could tell it had been thoroughly checked over. It only cost me £41. My bike is white and it had even been cleaned :). You made my 10-mile round commute a joy to do again! After the service my bike is a joy and so easy to ride again. It shaved 7-minutes off my commute time and I hardly broke a sweat, compared to the huffing and puffing wreck I used to be when I arrived at work. I'd been having problems with the gears slipping on my mountain bike for 6months. I had taken it to two different cycle places over a two months period but neither had fixed the problem despite not insignificant costs. I gave up and went back to riding my 20year old bike until I was given the South Coast Bikes Postcard. One last attempt I thought, and am I glad I did. Within 24hours my bike was returned and I can honestly say it is better now than when I collected it from the showroom 5years ago. I was having trouble with my gears on my Rayleigh touring bike since I bought it. I'd already taken it to another shop in Brighton to be fixed, but it wasn't. Even after I paid £10 for the service! At the end of my tether with it I called South Coast Bikes. I was apprehensive at first because it cost £41 and my bike only cost me £36, but it was completely worth it. It rides better than it ever has and I'm sure I will get countless pleasurable rides out of it in future. I would definitely not go anywhere else while I am still living in Brighton. Problems with my front changer were fixed but revealed other issues. Became a bit of a problem with my front gears but SCB's guys persevered and even ended up replacing my front spindle at no charge. It took a few hiccups and while to get there but eventually I had a bike that was a lot better than when they took it. Pickup & delivery was excellent too. Nice one guys.

I have been using South Coast Bikes for a few years now, and there really isn't anything else like it. Sometimes the final charge is higher than quoted but that is usually because they are so thorough in checking the bike over and fixing it properly.

brilliant.... my old sit up and beg delievry bike which I ran for 10 years in london with the original single speed now has a new lease of life... ie rebuilt back wheel including a 7 speed hub gear and coaster brake...
